With the new year comes new beginnings, and with that, we welcome another fantastic horse expert to the Al Waab Farm family.
Leon Botha, from Pretoria in South Africa, has been working with horses of all breeds, for over 30 years - yet just like us it is the Arabian horse that is Leon’s passion.
Leon has been an International Arabian Horse judge for the past 15 years, and ran his own training centre with his wife in South Africa before making the move to Doha.
Having successfully shown and trained horses to international level for halter and performance, Leon brings a wealth of knowledge to the team and will be working alongside us all in our mission to inspire passion, educate and spread awareness about the Straight Egyptian Arabian.
Leon says, “Horses are the love of my life, second to my beautiful wife Ina of course. Al Waab farm will bring new and exciting challenges, and I am so happy to have joined this cracking team”.
We too, are so excited to have him as part of our team and look forward to seeing what 2022 has in store!
Happy New Year to all of our team, friends and followers.
We are so blessed to have such a wonderful community sharing this journey with us.
A new year brings new beginnings - we can’t wait to see what 2022 has in store.

Firstly, a BIG thank you to the Al Waab Farm team, in particular Elouise Lando, Nassir Alam, and Nassir Alam (yep, 2 of our fantastic grooms have the exact same name!) for all their hard work in preparing our showteam for SEWC 2019.
Elouise and the 2 Nassir's left Doha 6 weeks before the event in order to help transport our horse team to Milan and get them settled for the event. Entering the stables, I came across barns and barns full of incredibly amazing Straight Egyptian Arabians. After spending just over a week with the team, drooling over the horses and discussing how we could make it work, we set a start date and I was back on a plane with a dream job”.
